Dancers from Brigham Young University-Idaho will perform July 31, 2010 in the Performing Arts Center at 7:30pm.

Ticket prices are $5.00 each or $20.00 per family and may be purchased from Speedy Pack & Ship, Active Home Furnishings & Appliance, Service Drugs, Jerry's Pool, Spa & Patio, The Kitchen Company or at the door.

Dance Alliance, which features approximately 40 dancers, blends the creative movement, elegance and youthful energy of three BYU–Idaho dance ensembles — Ballroom Dance Company, Contemporary Dance Theater and World Dance Company.

Ballroom Dance Company maintains a basic repertoire of traditional and elegant ballroom formations, but also branches out into Latin styles, energetic swing, cabaret and jazz numbers. Contemporary Dance Theater performs a variety of dance genres ranging from classical contemporary, jazz, tap and ballet to fast-paced character routines. World Dance Company shares a wide range of folk dancing from many cultures and nations, with particular emphasis on traditional American styles.

Since its creation in the early 1970s, the group has performed at various locations across the world including El Salvador, Panama, Mexico, Brazil, New Zealand, Fiji, Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Austria. Within these areas the team performed various outreach activities and workshops.

"An enormous amount of rehearsal and resources go into a Dance Alliance production," comments Shawn Fisher, director of a recent Dance Alliance tour to Central America. During this tour the team enjoyed great success with 15 performances and 15 outreach events. The estimated total audience size for this tour was approximately 35,000 people.
