Birdwatcher's Paradise Weekend at Morrison's Lodge
4/25/2008 - 4/27/2008
Morrison's Rogue River Lodge
8500 Galice Rd.
Morrison’s Lodge is offering a birding package in collaboration with the Siskiyou Audubon Society on April 25 through April 27, 2008. The weekend will be filled with birdwatching alongside wildlife experts, spectacular gourmet dining, and nightly accommodation in spacious quiet cabins with spectacular views of the Rogue River.
Dennis Vroman will meet the guests Friday evening and answer questions about local birds over cocktails. Dennis has spent thousands of hours in the field and is a respected bird bander and author, whose books include Guide to Birds of the Rogue Valley.
Cory Laughlin and Scott Drieschman, also longtime Siskiyou Audubon members, will join the group on Saturday for bird hikes and a nest-box building workshop. Scott will give a lecture Saturday night on Oregon birds and present an added feature on Antarctica where he and Cory study penguins.
Guests can expect to see over 50 species of birds on the nature hikes including: Western Bluebirds, at least five species of Warblers, Yellow-breasted Chats, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Bullock’s Orioles, Pileated Woodpeckers, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles.
